Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has showered praises on the new leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for supporting his $20bn refinery. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Bashir Bayo Ojulari as Group CEO and Ahmadu Musa Kida as Non-Executive Chairman.
Dangote clarified that his recent comments about fighting cabals in the oil sector were not directed at NNPCL’s new leadership, which has been supportive in meeting the company’s needs. Previously, there was tension with the former NNPC leadership led by Mele Kyari over crude supply issues and fuel pricing transparency.
Dangote acknowledged NNPCL’s structural reforms focusing on transparency, efficiency, and accountability. He expressed confidence that the new management team, led by Ojulari and Kida, would address challenges and align with President Tinubu’s vision of a $1 trillion economy.
He noted the team’s technical expertise and managerial experience are essential for revitalizing Nigeria’s strategic public enterprise, positioning NNPCL for operational excellence and sustainability.
