The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) reports that Nigeria’s crude oil production is now at 99 percent of the OPEC quota following increased output to 1.486 million barrels per day (bpd) in April, up from 1.401 million bpd in March, nearly reaching the OPEC+ quota of 1.5 million bpd.
“The average crude oil production was 99 per cent of the OPEC quota (1.5 mbpd),” NUPRC stated.
Though OPEC quotas for member states do not account for condensates, according to the NUPRC, the total crude output plus condensates for the country in April was 1.683 million bpd.
According to the NUPRC, April’s daily production varied from 1.60 million to 1.73 million bpd; averaging 1,485,700 bpd of crude oil and 197,607 bpd of condensate, for a total of 1,683,307 bpd.
Production varied during the first four months of the year. Output was 1.539 million bpd in January, 1.465 million bpd in February, then decreased to 1.401 million bpd in March, and increased to 1.486 million bpd in April.
